Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:
Sorry I have been away from my computer. I had to take a Speech final at KSU. Then once back, I had to read 5 pages of posts!!
CONGRATS Hayley!!
kb - are you the one who sat to the left of Starr at orientation, on the second day? If so, have you figured out how we receognize eachother? We'll have to talk somemore and figure it out!!
I was thinking the same thing. I would prefer to stay in Rome because of my kids. Third shift or first shift would work for me. As long as I get to see them in the afternoon after school and before bed. Both of mine are school age.
I'm with ya on the Pediatrics rotation. I'm not really excited about that rotation, because I cannot handle seeing children suffer.
Well, the competition may not be that tough for us.....looks like we'll be the only ones in Rome!!!! LOL
Hey guys, I'm back! I went to the bookstore, got a little lost, got a speeding ticket, got my nursing badge, books and a rolly back-pack. Wheeeeew, I'm worn out and this was just a warm-up for next week. The hard thing this morning was getting all of my kids fed and ready to go out the door early. Next week my mom will be back in town and watching them at my house(huge blessing :))!
I am ready to hear something from Wellstar. I hope they call everyone that applied and interviewed. It would be especially awful to have to wait an extra long time to just get a rejection letter.

I want to work at Floyd... I don't really care which unit except I don't want to do Pediatrics. I can't handle sick kids. I would cry everyday. Adults who are sick understand what is wrong with them ( for the most part). Kids are so innocent and don't understand and that just breaks my heart. I just know I can't handle that and I'm dreading that semester because I'll be an emotional basket case, but any other area of the hospital I'm good with. I was first interested in Heart care, but I would would like to do surgery because it's fascinating to me. I would also not mind the ER b/c it's busy and I get bored easily. I wanted to apply for the Floyd Scholarship, but we missed the May deadline b/c we didn't know if we were in the program or not and you had to actually be in a program.
I would also be willing to work at Redmond,I just don't know anyone who works there and I know a ton of people who are at Floyd. I mainly want to stay in Rome because it's just hard to travel far with Kids needing to go to school and a husband who works out of town, although, we are not opposed to moving in the future if needed. He drives to Atlanta 3 days a week... if I were doing the same, we would move farther south. I really want to work the night shift so I can still be at home for a few hours in the afternoons when the kids are out of school and before they go to bed. I can sleep while they are at school and then wake up, pick them up, see them a few hours and then go to work.
How about you?
