Hey Everyone! I'm just trying to start a thread for those of us wanting to get in to the ASN program at Georgia Highlands this fall!!! I submitted my application in the mail yesterday, and took the TEAS last week.
Anyone know if we will at least get a confirmation of their receipt of our app or anything?
I got a 92 on the TEAS. I tried to calculate my worksheet score but I have no idea what my SAT scores were individually. I know I got an 1890, but that was 6 years ago!
Is it bad that I am already a nervous wreck!
thanks for checking on the status, I was getting pretty tempted to call up there. Harkins, would u take highlands over chatt if you got accepted to both? Looks like we will hear about both schools pretty much in the same week, I was hoping highlands would have let us know one way or another by now.
I would stay away from Chatts program. They are ONLY accredited in the state of GA. If you want to practice outside of Gerogia, you cant. And if you're wanting to get your BSN, you can't. In order to continue your education your program must be nationally accredited. If youre going to spend your money/time on nursing school spend it on a nationally accredited program! A lot of people don't realize that. I've known a lot of people they were told all this information that was wrong and ended up leaving. Be careful which programs you apply for make sure they are accredited!

Mustang,
Yes, more than likely as I can get student loans at highlands whereas Chatt we can't. That's my biggest thing. And yes, I thought so too.

That was a bit worrisome for me ... but from what I understand you can go on to get a BSN at one of their partner schools that are accredited. Once you get a BSN from a partner school, you will be permitted to work in other states and go on to get an MSN anywhere as well.
If I misunderstood, please feel free to correct me!
Yeah, I agree. I think there are 2 or so schools that you can get your BSN at that partners with chatt. BUT those programs to be are iffy. Theyre barely accredited. I would be afraid the state could revoke it back, etc. If youre going to get your RN go to a program that is nationally accredited. Trust me. Good luck to everyone! You'll get it Im sure :) Im finishing up at KSU soon. Its hard but so worth it in the end!!!

Well I'm going to try and finish this week out and then pray next week something happens! I have somewhere between 1000-1100 as my worksheet score so I may be right on the cut off point😔
Who ever gets something first let us all know!!!
