Georgia Highlands ASN Fall 2015

Published

Hey Everyone! I'm just trying to start a thread for those of us wanting to get in to the ASN program at Georgia Highlands this fall!!! I submitted my application in the mail yesterday, and took the TEAS last week.

Anyone know if we will at least get a confirmation of their receipt of our app or anything?

I got a 92 on the TEAS. I tried to calculate my worksheet score but I have no idea what my SAT scores were individually. I know I got an 1890, but that was 6 years ago!

Is it bad that I am already a nervous wreck!

Specializes in retina, GYN, robotics.

First off....no need to be a nervous wreck so early! I can understand being nervous, but applications were due this week, almost a month after you applied. I think in the past I've heard that they don't even open and begin to look at them until Spring semester has finished. So relax!!!! In the past, the last week of June is when I should receive my decline letter.

I applied too. I applied before and wasn't accepted. I gave it up and switched my major, but the nagging feeling of failure lingered. So I retook a couple of classes and did much better. That darn TEAS test weighed heavily on my mind as I am a HORRIBLE test taker, I was convinced there was no point studying like I had done in the past, and was sure I would not do well. I did much better this time. My application points are a pitiful 1065. This is my absolute last attempt at the nursing program. If I don't get accepted, I will be much happier with a bachelor's degree in something else and continue to work at my job now.

Your SAT individual scores should be in your SCORE account. That is how you are able to see the individual score to properly calculate your grade. Unless you have a bachelors elsewhere then I am not sure how they calculate points for those students who aren't required to have the SAT scores. I am an LPN I am applying this Sept 1, 2015 to the bridge program. The TEAs is so stressful. The science questions I had were about space and a ton of chemistry. I am trying to retake it this June one last time. I did decent the first time. Good luck! Maybe we will cross paths int he program on down the line! *crossing fingers*

I too applied for the Fall 2015 program. I get sick to my stomach every time I think about it. If I calculated my points correctly, I have 1068.25 and I am so scared that it is not enough. I will be so glad to get an answer either way so that I can quit worrying.

Good luck to everyone on here. Maybe we will all be in the same class together!

Anyone know when letters will go out??

Judging from past years (on this site) I think we should hear something around the 3rd week of this month.

Seriously waiting on pins and needles here...

I applied for GHC fall nursing program 2015 hope we all get in:) let me know when you all recieve your letters, its almost time we are in June :)

Im applying in Sept for the bridge. For people who have applied to the nursing program. My advisor strongly urged me to take application and hand it in, in person to Rome. As long as my grades/SAT scores/TEAS scores are in is there anything you turned in other than the application and the fee? Also, if you took the TEAs multiple times did you guys send in the scores for every time you took it? Thanks!

hey guys,

So I've read that they have reduced the number of slots for non bridge RN since 2014. Does anyone know how many slots have been cut? Was there a spring cohort this year and if not how many slots were eliminated by them dropping the spring cohort. I'm a little nervous that competition may be ridiculous this year. I think the lowest admission score that got in last fall was around 1030 I'm just worried it might be much higher now.

I am not sure how many LESS they take but my advisor did tell me it was less than they use to take. As for the competition, the advisors are telling people since last years change in admissions the people who were planning on applying I think for that second admission date (but obviously they cut the second admissions date) are now applying for this past April. So I do believe theyll be a bit higher of applicants considering the admission date changes and there was a group of people who had to wait to apply. Im sure youll be fine! Think positive thoughts!

Anyone know what the schedule is like at GA Highlands? As in what days classes/clinicals are on?

I think it's basically Monday-Thursday. Youll do maybe 2 days of class and 2 days of clinicals. I think that's what I was told and that's how most nursing schools do.
