Georgia code 43-26-7 (article 1) re Excelsior education

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello fellow Registered Nurses,

I am license in the state of Florida as an RN. However, I want to endorse into Georgia. I was an LPN prior to enrolling in Excelsior. I have been a LPN for 14 years with several years of LTAC experience. I have recently graduated from Excelsior in Oct. 2010, and just passed my FL. RN boards last month. I have sent the board my endorsement packet some time ago, and have received very little communications from them! I have initiated phone conversations trying to see what the hold up is on issuing my license by endorsement as it has been well over a month since I have applied. The problem I am having is that everyone I speak to at the GBON always says something different from the person prior. I need a job to support my three kids, and to help my husband out . I have sent them all the required documents as it pertains to this Georgia Code. :uhoh3:. ALL I WANT IS MY LICENSE! IS THERE ANYONE HERE WHO CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS? OR, AT LEAST POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION? ANYONE HERE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ENDORSEMENT IN GA FROM FL AND EC? Has anyone heard of any updates to this Georgia Code? Please feel free to post here, or send me a private email. Thank you.

The Excelsior college website does have updates about the new rules. I believe it was posted this past August. Also check the Georgia Board of nurses website the same updates maybe posted there. Good luck

Hello,

This is just a follow up. I turned my case over to the attorneys office about two months ago, and no word yet! I have been waiting patiently, but the waiting is driving me up the wall. What is taking the GBON so long to respond to their letter? Anybody out there had to wait over two months for your license after contacting the attorneys office, and submitting all your information? I see there is a board meeting on the horizon.:devil:

Call the board first and then of course show up in person.

SegaGN,

I have called the Georgia Board of Nursing so much that they have a special ring tone for my call...LOL..Perhaps, that is why they never call back!!!! But, now they are dealing with the attorney's office.. But, even that doesn't seem to be the quick fix...

Well, so much for letting the Professionals handle it! They were a complete waste of my time! Of course , they only had Excelsior's best interest in mind, not mine! So, to anyone else in this situation, hire your own attorney if you can afford to because Excelsior's is just that Excelsior's! Don't waste your precious time with them they won't lift a hand to REALLY help you! IMO! I was so wrong about them! STUDENTS AND NURSES BEWARE! ONE HAVE TO ASK THEIR SELF WHY DID EXCELSIOR EVEN HIRE AN ATTORNEY? USUALLY WE HIRE AN ATTORNEY BECAUSE WE REALIZE WE WILL NEED ONE! THERE SHOULD BE A CHECK AND BALANCE SYSTEM IN PLACE TO MONITOR COLLEGES AND THEIR UNFAIR PRACTICES AND TREATMENT TOWARDS THEIR STUDENTS. WHY ARE THESE SCHOOL GETTING AWAY WITH SUCH ACTIVITIES? ISN'T ENOUGH, ENOUGH?!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::down::down::down::down::down::down::down::down::down:!!!

Sorry you are going through so much. Don't give up on the personal approach. Maybe you could give it a little break and then seek out an individual on the board to deal with on this and approach it from a personal standpoint, that is, for you only and not all Excelsior grads. Be patient. I hope things improve. Don't give up.
