Hey Evreyone! I just wanted to get a thread started for those who applies for GBCON's incoming class for fall 2014! I applied just last week and I'm excited to hear back from them! Has anyone else applied or heard back? If you don't mind sharing your stats as well (Teas, GPA) that'd be great too! I applied with a 3.35 and an 81.3 on my TEAS but I think I wrote a really good essay so hopefully that helps some too! I'm also thinking about retaking my TEAS.... I'd love to hear back from you all as we start this process! Thanks and good luck to you all!
Hello, I'm looking to apply for GBCN next fall. But had a quick question. Do they take the highest attempt for A&P or do they average how many times you took it to get the gpa for sciences? Also do they take chemistry to add to the gpa? I'm trying to get my gpa back up, so I'm a little scared to apply when the time comes.
Anyone know when I should expect to receive a financial aid award letter? I want to make sure I have plenty of time to come up with a financial plan. I submitted my FAFSA months ago, but I was just accepted a week and a half ago. Anyone know how long it takes? STRESSING ME OOOUUUTTTTTT lol. ALso, how do i get added to the FB group?
@tay22. GPA isnt everything. I applied with a 1.95 cumulative GPA from past courses taken at UGA 5 years ago. I had a 4.0 science GPA and a high pre-req GPA as well. I made a 92 on the TEAS. My GPA from my current institution is a 4.0.
They contacted me and held my application for my spring grades to post b/c you cannot be admitted without a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Mercer looks at each individual hollistically. If you can show a change in your academics, write a good essay, and score high on TEAS, I think you will be fine. Contact the admissions department. I found Laura Ellison to be warm, informative, and helpful. Good luck!
Just search for the "GBCN Class of 2016" group and request to be added. The cover photo of the group should be members of the senior class holding signs that spell out "GBCN" in black and orange. I believe we got our financial aid award letters in mid-June last semester, so I'd imagine it'll be about the same time. Just keep checking in MyMercer and make sure you're up-to-date on OSHA, HIPPA, and your vaccines/titers so nothing gets held up.
