I am applying to Georgetown's WHNP/CNM program for the May 2018 cohort. I have most of the components to the application complete other than my Statement of Purpose (why is this so daunting to write?) and the live video interview.
I am hoping my application is competitive enough. I have a 3.81 GPA currently (finishing my RN to BSN program in 2 months), worked for 7 months in postpartum with cross-training in L&D and nursery, and currently work in outpatient MFM and fetal diagnostics for the last 5 months. I also have recommendations from both a WHNP and CNM.
For anyone that has applied or is applying, can you give some insight as to what types of questions the live video interview may include, specifically for this program?

the admissions counselor said "upwards of $150,000" for the DNP but I'm not sure of the exact amount. but, you can find the price per credit hour on their website and it's a bit over $2,000 per hour.
I did my recorded interview today and I completely blanked on my answers! The questions weren't hard and I even have answered them eloquently to my friends but I guess the format just threw me for a loop. Oh well!
Anyone know about how long it takes for them to reach admissions decisions?
Hi all.... I also just finished my application for fall 2019. Just wondering if everyone who got accepted had a live student Q n A ? My admissions person also told me that a "processing team" had to look over my application before it was sent to faculty, and that it was going to take an additional 4-6 weeks for the decision... does that sound fishy ?
Thanks,
Lexi

They processed mine very quickly but supposedly it was because my GPA was low (sorry for being a screwup 15 years ago ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) . So expect anywhere from a week to a month.

If you applied for the DNP then we will all find out by May 1st, I was told. Everyone will find out all at once, no separate emails.

I am hoping they real do view admissions on a holistic overview. I have 4 years L&D charge nurse experience, EFM, NRP certified. 6 recommendations from physicians, CRNA, former teacher, and women's and children's' director. I completed my statement of purpose and video interview. The questions were almost hard to answer because they were so simple. Name and where you have worked as a nurse? What will you do with this certification? Goals for the future etc
Have you heard back from admissions committee? When did you submit your application!
Good luck ? I hope you get it!
Any updates about your application process? I am sitting at a 3.1 and am nervous about it. I told the admissions counselor that I thought it would be better for me to wait to apply and submit an application later with the GRE and a certification and she said she thought I would be a great fit and should apply now. It makes me nervous because I don't know how competitive my application actually is. My work experience is pretty great so hopefully they do care about a holistic applicant.
