I am applying to Georgetown's WHNP/CNM program for the May 2018 cohort. I have most of the components to the application complete other than my Statement of Purpose (why is this so daunting to write?) and the live video interview.
I am hoping my application is competitive enough. I have a 3.81 GPA currently (finishing my RN to BSN program in 2 months), worked for 7 months in postpartum with cross-training in L&D and nursery, and currently work in outpatient MFM and fetal diagnostics for the last 5 months. I also have recommendations from both a WHNP and CNM.
For anyone that has applied or is applying, can you give some insight as to what types of questions the live video interview may include, specifically for this program?

I also applied for Georgetown May 2018 cohort. I am very nervous due to my GPA not being super competitive. Im almost embarrassed to even say it. 2.9. I am hoping they real do view admissions on a holistic overview. I have 4 years L&D charge nurse experience, EFM, NRP certified. 6 recommendations from physicians, CRNA, former teacher, and women's and children's' director. I completed my statement of purpose and video interview. The questions were almost hard to answer because they were so simple. Name and where you have worked as a nurse? What will you do with this certification? Goals for the future etc
Have you heard back from admissions committee? When did you submit your application!
Good luck :) I hope you get it!

I did hear back - I got accepted for May 2018 start!
What is your science average like? I think they really take into account your drive and passion for going into this field.
Here is what my timeline looked like:
8/31: Started application
9/27: Submitted completed application
10/5: Live video interview
10/30: Attended live student panel q&a session
11/3: Acceptance letter received; signed intent to enroll and paid deposit
And now I'm just waiting to do my clinical clearance stuff before registration opens in a few months.

Hey there fabulousbee, I am about to finish up my application for the whnp/CNM. What term are you applying for? Have you done your interview yet? Any feedback is welcomed and appreciated, also what's your background? I'm a medsurg turned l&d nurse.

Same boat as you! Good luck!
Hey there! Did you finish your application?
Hi! I wanted to update everyone. I was accepted into the program to start May of 2018. I was about to start my first class when I had some issues with financial aid and ultimately being able to afford the program. While a fantastic school, I was not able to find a way to fund my entire tuition bill. I have since backed out of the program and am very sad about it.
Oh no! Now I'm a little scared bc I know it is a HUGE financial commitment. I'm sorry to hear. Are you going to try to apply anywhere else?
