Hey all,
I just submitted my application to Georgetown for their online FNP program with a November start date. Has anyone else applied? How many years of experience did you have and in what areas? What was your GPA and did you have any volunteer experience? How long did it take to hear back from them? Does anyone know their acceptance rate? Also any input on the online program?
I am nervous as I have only been an RN for two years (an LPN for six years prior to that) but I have never worked in primary care which is what their application seems to be centered on. I have been in the ER for almost two years, prior to that I was a case manager and wound care nurse for a home health company and prior to that I worked in a PCU. I do have some medical volunteer experience overseas in Africa and Brazil as well as a 4.0 GPA but I know that grades alone are not what they are looking for. Has anyone gotten rejected and if so what reasons did they give?
Thanks!!!!
Woop Woop, I got my acceptance email today! Any input on the program will be greatly appreciated and also any advice on paying for their grad school.

You got your acceptance in one day? Lucky you! Good luck.
Actually got it in 3 days :). I was prepared for a much longer wait.

Hi! I'm working on my application either for September or November start. I just started my application and am really overwhelmed at doing the video essay. How did you plan to create yours? I'm worried I won't tell them enough or I'll be too vague, because 3-4 minutes doesn't seem very long.
Mine was actually about 5 mins long, I was told content was more important than time. I made a list of the questions they wanted answered on a sticky note and put it on the side of my computer and answered the questions in order. I probably recorded the video over 20 times though before I was happy with the result. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck and hope to see you in classes soon!
