Hi all!
I wanted to make this forum for people who got accepted into Georgetown's MSN FNP program. Are you going to accept it? Why or Why not?

Hey,
I was just accepted yesterday and am on the fence. I am assuming its a great program? It is ranked really well and the name is well recognized. Does anyone know the acceptance rate? Are you planning on going? Do you know how many people are accepted?

Hey congratulations!! The acceptance rate is 17% I believe, it's overall a very competitive program to get into, and I believe it's ranked number 12 in the nation for their MSN program. I read other forums that those who attended in the past, they loved it there-- it was very difficult, but they wouldn't have it any other way. The reasons why I am considering Georgetown is the amazing reputation and I am moving to DC so the access to the great teaching hospitals/clinics around the DMV area will be a memorable experience for me. I think the diverse population in this area is especially nice to gain exposure in as well. I also had the BEST experience with the admission's team. They really know the importance of customer service and I loved how personable they were. I appreciated all the follow up emails and the calls I received from my assigned rep. They were so helpful and understanding. (A part of me really wants to attend just because my application experience was so positive and impactful haha.) I am on the fence about Georgetown is because it is part-time (Even though 27 months isn't bad at all). It's just that my scholarships and financial aid will be affected because of it.
It's my second choice because I would like to get accepted into the DNP program I applied for at another school so I can get my doctorates out of the way and I'll have more clinical hours with a DNP. However, if I don't get in, I will be more than content to attend Georgetown. ?

I’m currently in the process of applying. The admissions team has been really awesome so far.I really hope to get in! I am applying for the online program. My admissions counselor told me that they usually accept around 30 students. How was the interview experience?

It was super easy. They just want to get to know you better. They pretty much give you the potential topics when you schedule the interview. do you plan on working as well?
Does anyone know people in the program willing to answer some questions about it?
GU lets us schedule meetings with student ambassadors if you let your admission's rep know!

The interview was kinda strange for me haha. I never had an interview where we read off questions from the slide and answer it while we are being recorded. It was an adjustment, but once you get passed that it should be pretty standard for all interviews. One thing is that you are timed as soon as you start your response, but they give you plenty of time to answer the questions.

Hello, I've also been accepted to the FNP program at Georgetown this year. Has anyone had any luck confirming with a current student about the preceptor matching process?

Hey guys! I’m about to submit my application in the next few days and I was just wondering how long it took for you to hear back, interview, and then get accepted?
@abbey13 They schedule your interview pretty quickly. I just had mine on Thursday and I’m hoping to put the final touches on my personal statement and send in my completed app on Tuesday this week. My admissions counselor told me it is usually 3-4 weeks after they received our completed app with the interview. Good Luck!
Just scheduled my interview! I’m excited but nervous of what to expect - is it more broad questions or are they specific, detailed?
I just submitted my application! Now the waiting game begins...
@abbey13, the questions were a little of both. There are only 5 and there are three different sets and you choose one set at the beginning of the interview. Good Luck!
