I sent my application for the Accelerated BSN in the fall of 2010 and I am anxious already. I do not know if I have a chance of getting in. My GPA from my previous degree is a low 3.1, but I have a 4.0 on my pre-requisites so far. Anyone in my same situation?
Just wanted to wish you all good luck! I just started the accelerated program last month. It's intense, but an amazing experience. I hope to see you on campus this fall!
Hi FralliesMom,
Would you mind telling us your stats for when you got accepted? GPA from first bachelors? Pre-req GPA? Healthcare experience? etc? Thanks.
Since it's already the last week of February (technically, no?) anybody think that we'll be hearing back from G-town sometime this week? I'm anxious to hear back from them and the wait is seriously killing me. I mean, the interview isn't an acceptance letter but if I'm even considered, I'll be so happy it's going to be unreal!
hopefully we'll hear something soon! the timeline on the website says that interviews are conducted in March... so hopefully we'll hear something in a timely manner (because i'd be coming all the way from texas). the wait is killing me as well. my application was complete in december! lol. yeah the interview isn't an acceptance, but it's good to know you're the only one that can control how they see you at that point (and nerve-racking i bet).
Well, I just got accepted to University of Miami Accelerated Nursing:yeah:. The program is only 12 months, so I kind of like that since my interest is to become a Nurse Practitioner or CRNA, and I was told by the nursing program that I can transition into the masters program as soon as I am done with the Accelerated degree. This is great, since I would not have to apply all over again for a masters program. I still want to visit Georgetown (if i ever get an interview), just to make sure. Another thing is that I will only have to pay 39,000 for UM's program (not including expenses) vs. 72,000 for Georgetown. Oh, and let's not forget about the nice weather in Miami.

Congrats on your acceptance!! I totally understand where you're coming from. I already have 1 acceptance under my belt as well, and a lot of factors kind of lead me more towards that particular school. but i'm still open to Georgetown because i haven't heard from my #1 choice school yet (NYU)... so until I hear from them i'm keeping an open mind on all the schools I applied to!
Sure. I have class 4 days and spend one day at the hospital. First semester, you have only one clinical. Some in my cohort managed to get a day off, but I couldn't get that to work based on my electives. I study a lot! I would estimate about 35 hours/week. But, that could just be how I study. Friday evenings I have made it a rule that I don't study and spend time with my husband.
Hey guys, I am new to the blog. I also applied for admission to Gtown Accelerated BSN for Fall 2010. I was reading the blog from last year and it seems like they didn't send out email invites until the 28th of February, but then continued to send them out in batches until late March, so don't lose hope if you don't get one right away. Also applied to George Mason and Marymount, hope to get in at least one! Good luck to everyone!
