I sent my application for the Accelerated BSN in the fall of 2010 and I am anxious already. I do not know if I have a chance of getting in. My GPA from my previous degree is a low 3.1, but I have a 4.0 on my pre-requisites so far. Anyone in my same situation?
Overall, I was impressed by Gtown and WHC on interview day. On my tour we ran into a cohort at the hospital that said although they liked the program and that they would do it all over again, they all agreed that Gtown as a whole is "disorganized." Any thoughts on this? Also, can anyone speak about the mental health rotations at WHC? I've heard mixed feelings about mental health at WHC and opportunities to work in that area.
I would like to know what they mean by "disorganized".. I mean, did any of them who said that give any examples? I would personally say the opposite. Gtown has been on top of everything and the staff/professors are all very receptive and supportive. My opinion is that a lot of people think things should be done a certain way (their way) and if GU does something different, GU gets labeled "disorganized"...
In regards to mental health at WHC, the mental health floor is actually not run by WHC directly. They have hired a seperate company to run it, in the hospital. So while the mental health floor is in WHC, its not owned or run by WHC.. that could be why you have heard mixed things about it. As far as I know that could be an issue with opportunities to work there.. but that is speculation.
Whew, so glad to hear that somebody felt the same way I did! I was at the interview last Saturday too and I seriously didn't know what to make of the interview. I was one of the last people to be called and I wasn't sure if they were rushing to get on with the tour or if they really didn't have anything else to ask me...it seems all up in the air right now but I really do hope I get in! :)
Hey, since we were there on the same day, did we even meet? Lols. I was the one of the only people from California, haha.
I think we probably did meet. I am from NY. Well today is the last day of interviews so I think we should be hearing from them soon. As each day goes by the more anxious and nervous I become. Best of luck to everyone :)
I just have to say that I disagree with LITERALLY everything in this post... funny how people can have totally different experiences...
I am glad that TLM424 really likes the program. I really liked the program too 1/2 way through my first semester. By the end you are just grinded down. Everyone is cynical and miserable.

I can definitely confirm what Tammy is saying. I am graduating in a few weeks. No one in my cohort is happy, we're just happy to be geting out. I'm a WHC scholar, but I don't know any of the non-WHC scholars who have found jobs yet. Even the WHC scholars have to interview for their WHC jobs, bringing references, etc.
For those of you thinking of attending, definitely ask to speak to some recent grads or students about to graduate who can give you a good idea of what you are getting into. In my view, you're just paying for the reputation. You will get a good education for the most part, but plan to be miserable the next 16 months of your life!
