I'm not sure how your situation works, as I think many of the posters on here already have a degree? I could be wrong though. I might not be the best person to ask, as I have an MSN and I will be getting the post masters certification for FNP. Does anyone else have any info that could help?

I have my BSN. I waited for a year before applying to the GW program. I really don't know why KC_Magic was waitlisted. It could be for a lot of different reasons.

I think it is a good idea to get bedside nursing experience before becoming an NP, but that's just my opinion. I was advised this by several NPs because I was thinking of doing a direct-entry program initially (this is my second career), but I opted to do the "long route" of BSN, work a little, then MSN and then doctorate. Now I understand why they told me what they did.

Hi, I have been accepted for the Fall 2017 entry cohort as well! Congrats to you all!

The emails I've seen stated the orientation is all virtual now so we won't be visiting the campus in the fall. Did you all ascertain that as well from the welcome emails?

yes it is definitely a virtual orientation! Hopefully one day soon our cohort will be able to meet altogether on campus!

Congratulations! Just wondering, how long did it take for you to hear back from the email that stated your application was referred to the admissions committee to the email that stated you were accepted? All this waiting is wearing me down! Thanks, hope to hear from you soon!!

Hello! I just found out I was accepted into the Fall entry 2017 GWU FNP program! I am so excited. My email is [email protected]. Someone mentioned the orientation in August in earlier messages. I was under the assumption that the orientation is all online now and we don't go to campus? I haven't been in school since I graduated with my BSN in 2002. Any suggestions for how to prep for the Masters program. I feel like I need a refresher on writing, etc. Looking forward to the program! Amanda

I just received an acceptance letter for the RN-MSN adult geriatric primary care NP program. I start the BSN portion this fall 2017. Anyone else starting that tract or something similar?
