Hi, has anyone applied/been accepted to the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program starting Fall 2014?
If so - have you heard anything yet? Anyone know what kind of "stats" GWU looks for re: years of and type of experience, GPA, etc?
And better yet, is anyone enrolled in this program? Any/all insider comments welcomed! Seems like a great program...?
Hi Shantel - I don't believe they offer the classes in the summer. The setup is that there is a weekly lecture but you do not have to attend - you can print the power points and watch the lecture from your computer at home. You have to go to campus for the tests. For Pharm there were 5 tests and for Path there are 4. It probably doesn't make sense for you since you are already accepted into a graduate program (unless you delayed starting and decided to take those classes first). It's more for people who want to start graduate coursework but haven't decided on a track or school yet.
Hello! I am very interested in their online Adult-Geriatric Primary Care NP program. I'd really like to hear some opinions on the program from a student point of view. The program is extremely costly, which is fine, but I'd just like to know its "worth it" before jumping in and sending in an application in a couple months. Some other specific questions: What exactly are the on-campus requirements? How does the program administer final exams and other such assessments? I understand this is in an online format, but is being located far away from the university going to be a problem in terms of clinical placements? I am located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin :)
