George Washington Accelerated Program Fall 2011

Hey Clarkc27, dlrosen's thread is helpful. We both found out that last year out of the 17 that graduated, 15 have reported back passing the NCLEX. This year they accepted 75 students. The lecture class will be all the students. The lab will be up to 19-20 students with 2 teachers, and the clinicals will be up to 6 students. We would most likely have class 3-4 times a week and clinicals at some hospital 2 times a week. I don't think we have much say in where we go.

Yes, I do have healthcare experience. I have volunteered at hospitals and I do medical research now. I study chronic lung disease in pre-mature babies.

dlrosen, did you get a chance to find a student to talk to? I would be interested to know what you learned.

Hi AMM430,

I haven't even received an e-mail stating that my application is under review. My application was complete last week. I can't stand all this waiting! GW is my first choice, I would be so proud to be a student there. Good luck to you!

So I finally heard from GW and got in!!! Trying to finance the program is kind of complicated they said you need to find an outside loaner ... has anyone started this process besides filing fasfa or found hospitals that offer scholarships for gw students?

I just checked my status and it says that my application has been received and is waiting to be referred. How long will it take before it says it's being reviewed?

Congrats ktg! so exciting! The financing is a bit worrisome and am in the same boat. I have not done anything yet in regards to private loans...just have done the fafsa. Guess it's time to start shopping. Do you think you will accept?

Hello All,

Congrats to all that got accepted into GWU's Fall 2011 nursing program!! That's great news! A few weeks ago, I received my email acceptance as well. I'm looking for carpooling options and financing as well. If anyone lives in the Mount Pleasant/Adams Morgan area and would like to set up a carpool please let me know.

Congrats on getting in!! I haven't heard back yet, but if I get in I'll be carpooling from that neighborhood!! (U Street/North Dupont so close enough)

Hi everyone,

i just found out that i've been accepted for fall and now i'm stressing about how to afford the tuition... there are a lot of programs out there for tuition reimbursement but not many for scholarships (though there is one that will give you up to $5k but then you must work for them for 2 years afterwards and i dont wanna stay in the area...)... does anyone know of any legit websites to search for scholarships or grants? (I tried Sallie Mae's website but they have a bunch of scam websites), any help is greatly appreciated! thanks!

When did you all submit your application? My status say's that it has been referred to the committee for review, that was a week and a half ago.
