I didn't see an application/acceptance thread for the George Mason University ABSN program for Fall 2021.
Has anyone heard anything yet from admissions? I figured I'd shoot this post out there in hopes of connecting with other applicants 🙂
Thanks in advance!
4.0 for prerequisites is great! My background was a degree in psych with yoga teaching and a few years of labor doula experience. I took prerequisites through GWU with a 3.8gpa.
You have a good chance with good grades and you are showing interest by being a medical interpreter. You still never know though… it’s tough to know what they look for when most applicants have great grades. I know of others who had no medical background. Best of luck! (Also I never took Chemistry and I’m totally fine in this program.).
I used Nurse Mo’s Straight A nursing to help prepare me for MED math and medical abbreviations. (That really helped for clinical.) apply and see what happens… even if you get waitlisted you could still get in Bc people decide to go elsewhere. We should all apply to a handful of schools.
Hey everyone! I just found this thread while searching for fellow applicants for the program.
So, I know that we have two applications to submit, and I'm currently filling out my transfer applications. These prompts are taking longer than I expected (probably because I suck at writing haha) but I was curious if there were other prompts on the actual nursing application.
Can anyone confirm if there are other prompts to write on the second part of the nursing application?
I graduated with the Fall 2020 ABSN cohort in August 2021. I had also been accepted in the GWU ABSN program. I am glad I chose GMU over GWU. GMU is a huge cost savings, especially for VA residents. And GMU is a 12-month program as compared to 15 months for GWU. Interestingly, admission to the GMU program is more competitive than GWU (as stated to me by a GWU admissions officer when I toured GWU's facility).
I thought my fellow students were very high quality: smart, hardworking and mature. The program was disorganized but showed some improvement over the course of the program, based in part on some administrative personnel changes. As a general rule, faculty varied from good to outstanding, with only one professor being what I would consider poor-to-bad. Overall, I think students who work hard will get a very good education there.
Hi! I got out of the waitlist. so excited! I didn’t get to be at the 1st virtual admitted student event to know more. Can some of you share how classes are scheduled? The school says they will assign us. Does that mean they will set 100% of our class schedule? How were your registration for 1st semester like?
