I start September 5th, at 8am. We have Lecture all day and then Friday i have skills lab all day. My schedule is really Monday 8-2:30(lecture), Wednesday 7-3(Hospital/clinical), Friday 9-2:30(skills lab). But they want us to learn the basic before we get a patient, so our schedule for the first 4 weeks is different. I have :
Monday-Lecture- 8a-3p
Tuesday-Lecture-8a -3p
Friday- skills lab - 9a-3p
for the first 4 weeks, and then it is back to my regular schedule when clinical starts. The first week we only have 1 lecture day though due to labor day tomorrow. But thats ok cause it gives us a chance to get the overwhelmed first day feeling out of our system cause we have a week in between lecture classes this week.
So is anyone else starting this week with me?

I start my 10 month LPN program tomorrow. I am so excited. I am driving my family crazy. I am not as nervous as I thought I would be. I can't believe I am going to be a nurse. I have been a dog groomer for 20 years. It has been a career that has been very good for me but its time to move on. Wish me luck. Maybe even a little prayer for all us newbies. Thanks. Colleen
I started my first semester of Nursing last week (Aug 28).
My schedule is:
M-T 7:30-1:30 Clinicals
Sat 9-11:30 Skills Lab
Nursing Lecture and Pharmacology both online
We are also doing what they call "frontloading" until September 19 to teach us basic patient care. We already had to have our first true clinical day moved from the 18th to the 19th because we missed a day last week due to Ernesto, the storm that never was.
I'm not too crazed so far, but I have a Pharm test tomorrow (6 chapters) and then a Nursing Lecture test next Wednesday (12 chapters, I think?) so I have a feeling I'm going to be nuts pretty soon.
Good luck to everyone!
