We had clinical today. I had been feeling incompetent and that my instructor didn't like me. Before I went out on the floor, she pulled me aside and "wanted to talk." EEE (stomach plumenting). She said I had good book sense. I chimed in that yes, I knew that but my clinical skills needed work. She said, "Oh no. You have great clinical skills and people skills. you're going to be a great nurse. You just need to be more confident in your abilities." I was shocked! I had been so sure that I was screwing up and that I was going to be a bad nurse.
Just goes to show that we aren't always the best judge of our performance.
You are your own worst enemy and critic. Listen to what those other people say about you and revel in the joy of it, unless they say bad things, then you can tell them to go to he**!
