Hi-
I begin an ADN program on JAn 10th and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on where to by nursing supplies. I need a stethescope, blood pressure cuff, pen lightbandage scissors, and watch with a second hand.
Thanks!

allheart.com is pretty good. I've ordered from them recently (last month) and was very happy with the price, selection and service.
If you do a search here, you'll find that the overall response is lukewarm. Some people love allheart, others absolutely hate them.
Good luck with your studies! :)

Easiest thing to do is just check out the local uniform shop in your area where you can see the items in person and see what works for you, especially with the stethescope. They also carry all of the items on your list.
As far as watches, you can find one almost anywhere and in any price range. It just needs a econd hadn that you can see, and if it is one where the hands glow in the dark, all the better.:)

Lots of supply stores can be found online. My advice: don't buy a top of the line scope for school. You don't need an expensive one, and it just might get lost or stolen. You can get a pricey one for a graduation present.

Just a heads up about allheart.com If you order a stethoscope from them, be prepared for it to be back-ordered for a few weeks. I think mine took almost a month to arrive. If you need it sooner, you might want to find out what models/colors they have in stock. Good luck!

Just a quick response regarding allheart.com. My boyfriend ordered a stethescope for my birthday this past August, and he got in in a week (a Littman Master Cardiology). This included having my name engraved on it. He ordered a set of scrubs for me to wear to my lab class from Allheart, so we'll see how quickly they respond during the holiday season.
When I was accepted into my nursing program, I went out and bought a stethescope that cost $20. It was ok, but I couldn't hear with it nearly as well as I can with my new one.
JMHO.

I have ordered through Redding Medical, and found them excellent.

Not sure if this is true in your area, but in Columbus Ohio the local uniform shops wanted 25-30% more $$$ for things like stethoscopes and blood pressure cuffs.
Littmann Cardio III was $159 at local shop, $121 at allheart.com
BP Cuff $29 at local shop, $18.98 at allheart.com
You will have to pay shipping, but depending on how much you plan to buy you might save come coin ordering from cyberspace!
