I'm starting to look at summer experiences for next year. I'll be finished with four of six clinical semesters in a BSN program. Though I could get an externship with a local hospital, I'd really like to do something "different" and exciting. I'm interested in the Mayo Clinic program for nursing students; does anyone know about any other opportunities?

Where is local for you?? I did my externship this past summer at the Cleveland Clinic, which happens to be local for me. It was an awesome experience! I know they do accept students from out of the area, and even have housing for some (on Cleveland State's campus, which is minutes away). If you want more info PM me :)

I think its great that you want to get an externship and do something different with your time.
Coming from someone who did an externship while I was in school- I highly recommend it. Yet working at the Mayo Clinic may provide the same thing. You learn patient care, communication, and so much more, and you are able to practice your skills.
I just wanted to say good luck with this, and its great that you want to do something out of the ordinary. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get what you are after!
