school supplies!

I'm with you on the school supplies. I am about to oder a book pack from LL Bean that is so awsome. I can carry my books and my laptop. If you happen to have a catalog it's on page 65 and its called the little easy pack. I'm going to get it in raspberry, or as I call it pink... I cant wait to get it.

okay I am a major office supply geek to begin with, but I just can't wait to buy my school supplies for the fall. I already bought a very cool Nike binder. It's a 3 ring binder and it also has an accordian file built in, along w/ lots of pockets and pen holders. It's exactly what I needed so I went ahead and bought it. I am trying to wait until Georgia has their sales tax holiday to buy the rest of my stuff, but it is killing me. I want to go ahead and get it all now so I can play and get all organized! anyone else feel this way or am I the only office supply geek?

I'm with you all about being excited!

I like the ideas about color coordinating notebooks....

but mine is to get a large 3 ring binder and lots of plastic sleeves, then have dividers for each class. I place each syllabus in a a sleeve within it's proper place and viola'! Instant organization in one handy folder!

I wish it would hurry up and get here already! :)

me too! me too! and don't forget to keep all your receipts for EVERYTHING for when you do your taxes! I threw one out for $40 the other day and dh just about blew a gasket! LOL!

??? You can put school supplies on your taxes??? I knew that you can put tuition on your taxes - but I didn't know you could with supplies! I threw away my receipts for books that I bought these past 2 quarters - I there anything I can do about that?????

What all will I need for school. I am starting my prereqs in Aug. I am going to use my small carry on with wheels (luggage) for my books because I do not want to carry all those big books on my back. Okay. I know notebooks. I know pencils and pens. A highlighter. What else can you think of that I might need? I am starting to get excited now!

Where do you live in Georgia? I live in Macon and in December I will be moving back to Conyers with my parents.

I actually live in Chattanooga, TN, but my husband is from Jonesboro, GA and we usually go down there every few months or so to see his parents, so we a planning a visit around the sales tax holiday. That way I can hit the Old Navy outlet in Locust Grove. I am so excited, I can't wait to go school shopping!

I would suggest, instead of getting notebooks, that you get a 3 ring binder so that you can add paper if you need to. I can't tell you how many times I have run out of room in a notebook. The binder that I got is made by Mead and has Nike swooshes on it. It's got an accordian file built in and also all sorts of pockets to store pens and other stuff in. It's really the first one I've ever seen like this that has everything together. I am going to get some pocket dividers for extra storage and then fill it w/ lots of paper. One other thing you might want to get are some plain cheap binders so that at the end of the semester, you can transfer out all your old notes and stuff but still have it on hand and organized when it comes time for review and the NCLEX. That's all I can think of right now...

OMG - I just went to wal-mart and got a "few" things and it came to $40, and I didn't really even get anything fun!!! :imbar And I still need a bunch of stuff for my son and myself!!!

Debbie.....I don't know if your bookstore can do anything for you as far as the receipt or not....did you pay with a check or credit card because then you would have documentation from the bank or credit card company.

Hmmmm...that's true. I paid by debit card - but I can probably look up an old statement. Would that work?

Where is it that you can use school supplies as a deductable? I assume it's only college supplies?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's only college. I would have to ask dh for sure where it is you do all the deducting, etc and he's out of town until Sunday. REmind me then! LOL!
