I had to register for the fall semester and I need to finish up my pre reqs in the next 2 semester so here is what I am taking. Please tell me I can do this. :

Fall

-Human Physiology with lab (4 credit hours)

-Zoology (5 credit hours)

-Sociology (3)

-Nutrition (3)

-West Civ (3) = 18 credit hours this semester

Spring

-Microbiology w/lab (5 credit hours)

-Non-West Civ (3)

-Psych Statistics (3)

-Chemistry w/lab (5 credit hours) =16 credit hours this semester

I have 2 young kids (the oldest will be in kindergarden half day) and do not work. I have just never taken more than 14 credit hours per semester (and made all A's). My husband is very supportive and I KNOW I can do this but still when I look at it I think maybe 2 science classes per semester will be to much???

Marilyn

I think you know yourself best. I did two sciences together but my kids are older. If you have done 14 credits with no problem then I am sure you will be fine. Good luck whatever you decide.

You can do it! I just finished a 17 credit hour semester that included chem and micro. I can't say it was easy, but it went pretty well. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be (even with three kids harrassing me:) ). The trick was to keep up and use the weekends to STUDY!

I have to admit, though, around final exam time I did lose a little hair and a lot of sleep! I have never been so happy for it to be summer break!!

Good luck!

I used to routinely take 16 credits my first time around in college. You just have to get in 'school mode' to do it. No, I didn't have any kids, but I had LOTS of time to hang out with friends, go out partying all the time, or just being lazy with my roommate. It will be difficult, but I don't think it's any worse than working 40+ hours and taking 2 or 3 classes, something people do all the time. Although I will say that I took Zoology and it was rather difficult--and a 5 credit class sounds hard!!

You know yourself best. Go with what your gut tells you, and good luck.
