Just a quick question, I am trying to tidy up the conclusion on one of my essays, and one of my friends mentioned that a conclusion shouldn't have any references.
I have not introduced any new quotes but I was going to include names in brackets like I have done for the rest of my essay.
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks

Wish I could help...but I have no idea. You may want to check out these websites. I found them very helpful when writing my last paper:
http://www.powa.org/
http://webster.commnet.edu/mla/index.shtml
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/research/r_apa.html
Good luck!
Thanks those sites are really interesting, I don't think I have shared this link before, but it is a great file, it pops up like a windows help file, and is an essay writing guide for student nurses.
oops the direct link didn't work, but it is the top link, on the right hand colum on this page:

Actually they are right a conclusion should not striclty speaking contain references because you are not introducing new material just analysis and sythesis of what you have written in your main text.
So, If I refferenced it when I introduced the material in the main bulk of my essay, It isn't plagerism, when I rehash it for the conclusion?
