Preadmission Exam for Nursing School

Well guys I took the NLN today and I have to say it wasn't easy and I am worried(of course i am a chronic worrier so...) For anyone who hasn't had experience with this exam.....3 parts.....1st verbal/reading/vocab....80 questions in 60 minutes. 2nd math....54 questions....60 minutes.....3rd science....80 questions...60 minutes.

No pee breaks...5 minute stretch break between sessions and if you had to go to the bathroom you had to go one at a time during your test taking time. 214 questions of which 200 count....I need 100 to pass for my school. I ran out of time on reading and vocab and think I ended up with 5 blank though so thers 5 and same thing with math......these were not easy math problems...they were hard and I don't know how many didn't get an answer. In hindsight I wish I had filled in something, but it's too late now. I am guessing I had 20-25 blank from running out of time so I am now terrified. I am really strong in reading and vocab though so I am hoping that I got alot of those right and hopefully at least 20 math....that would leave half the science right to get my 100........please keep your fingers crossed for me!!!! Thanks.....I have to wait a couple of weeks for the results now....and I am not patient!

robin, i bet you did fine! all the best to you and looking forward to hearing the good news, you passed. hang in there!

I also think that you will do fine just have some faith and good luck

Thanks for your confidence......I'm still gonna worry though, lol. I have been going over and over it all in my head all day. We'll see what happens in a couple of weeks......I just worry about those I didn't get to answer cause I know those will definitely be worng so already I am down to 175 of 200........oh well.....if it's meant to be....it will be.....Thanks again!

I find that the more I stress, the better I did.....

Sounds like you'll do fine!

Let us know as soon as you hear! ;)

I know how you feel... Sometimes I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I'm sure you did fine. Maybe doing something that is seriouly distracting.... Like... Tennis!! Usually, a good competitive game of Tennis gets my mind off things.

I have been in similar situations. In some ways I usually feel relieved since it's all over with. I know waiting isn't fun, but there's nothing you can do about it now! Think how happy you'll be when you get your results and realized all that worrying was for nothing!

I bet you did fine, Robin. I have to take that exam myself in...eleven hours. Eeep. :) As far as I can tell, if you familiarized yourself with the exam format, you'll be in the clear.

Oops......damn I knew there was something I meant to do before that test!!!!! lol....Good luck to you! Be sure to come and let us know what ya think!

Well, took the NLN pre-ad exam, the PAX, today. It wasn't so terribly bad. There were quite a few questions that left me google-eyed, so I just blinked and tried to reason them out. ;) Oddly enough, it seemed to work for me. LOL

Won't have the scores back for several weeks, but I'll keep you guys posted. You do the same, Robin. :)

Well, off to bed with me. I am positively loopy. My boyfriend and I went hiking Saturday, and I got bitten by a gazillion ants. My legs itch! So I took some Benadryl, and...you can figure the rest. ;) Blargh. Sleeeeep...

Hey, I took the NLN exam last January before I even took A&P II and I scored a 130. At our school it counts for 3 points on our entrance application.

It wasn't really all that hard, just choking up some info that I supposedly learned. I am sure that you did just great. I'm dying to know what you two got!

Let us know....

Our NLN score is our major thing that they use....they use GPA.....and NLN.......it's figured like this say you get 100 points....they divide it by 2 and get 50....add it together and you get 150 towards your entrance......it's wierd. Anyway I will let you guys know as soon as possible!
