Hi everyone!

I just wanted to start a forum for all who applied to OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP program for 2018-2019. I thought it could be helpful to stay updated with interviews, admission decisions, or sharing stats in order to improve applications the following year.

I applied for the Psych ABSN-DNP Track!

Congratulations @animu! Wow so they give you a week or so to get to the interview, if I understand the dates correctly. All the best to you!

Hi guys! I applied to the MSN nurse midwifery. I'll have my ABSN in May. I got called for an interview last week and I'm dying for any tips.

Just wanted to check back in to say that I got my call for PNP last Thursday. The admissions counsellor on the phone told me I was the last person she was calling. I hope any other PNP folks out there have also heard back!

I got a call too for PNP (but the DNP route)! :) Did she say how many people she called?

Also, do you mind if I ask about your stats/experience? Im curious about other PNP applicants!

Congratulations, you guys! The wait for FNP invites is probably going to kill me.

Hi! That's so exciting. I applied to the CNM/MSN program as well and will have my BSN in June. I have yet to hear about an interview, but am curious to know your experience, etc.?

She didn't say how many people, but I know they're only doing one day of interviews, 40 minutes each, from 8-2:30. They do group interviews, but I'm not sure how many applicants in each one. So probably 8-9 interviews with 3-5 people each?

I'm not sure what Stats are most applicable, but I have a BS in Computer Science, I've been volunteering at a local free clinic for a year, and I've been working part-time as a medical scribe (for a Pediatric Orthopedist) for the past 8ish months. My GPA numbers are:

Overall: 3.68

Natural Sciences: 3.93

Since I started taking my prerequisites through PCC, I've gotten a 4.0.

Oh I thought on the phone she said it was a panel interview with just one applicant and 4 faculty members, am I mistaken? Also did you get a confirmation email yet? I have not.

I have one more semester of my absn and I have a 3.88. My first undergrad was awful (2.8) and my prerequisites for nursing school was like a 3.5. I worked for three years at planned parenthood as a medical assistant/health educator, 6 months at a private ob gyn office and a year at ucsf's women's options center. Im trained as a doula but never worked as one.

I haven't gotten the confirmation email yet either!

Did anyone apply to the OHSU program in Eastern Oregon? I had heard the school was starting an ABSN - MSN/DNP program in La Grande/Enterprise area.

amimu hi, congratulations! when is your interview. I didn't get a call, fingers still crossed. I applied to absn to dnp cnm. Is this the portland campus? Please keep me up to date, let me know how your interview goes.

Hello all! I just started an account and browsing allnurses furiously for any interview tips (it all seems very hush hush) because OHSU just called me earlier today to schedule an interview for the CNM ABSN-DNP program. :D It looks like Midwifery has the earliest interview dates though so I'm not sure if my experience translates to your programs very well. :( Hope to hear from everyone with good news soon!
