notification letter?

I was supposed to receive my notification letter about 2 weeks ago. I've been having nightmares about that I got into the program, but the nursing program had to first check how my nursing skills were. So they put a dummie on a bed and asked me what was I supposed to do to the patient next. There were hurricanes coming one after another and dinosaurs that were supposedly demons, trying to get into my house. I guess I'm feeling that no matter what I do I still won't have a chance to get in. I know it sounds very pessimistic, but I guess I'm feeling this way because I really want to get into this school. I had a 50/50% chance of getting in, I still do. What has me anxious and having all these nightmares is the fact that I havn't gotten the letter yet. Do you think they havn't send it to me because I won't get in. If they say that their going to send the letters right before X-mas, then why havn't they. Be blunt with me if you have to, from your experience do the people that get in the program get the letter really fast. I mean classes start on the 8th of January and they re-open school on the 7th of January. What time do I have to actually send them back my info. and pay for the dormitory and tuition. This school is 2 hours away from where I live; I'm not planning on driving over there everyday.

Can you call them?

Or go to the school's website and look around and see if you have a schedule and/or a bill.

My school lets you know by mid-march if you are in for the fall and by mid-november if you are in for the spring.

Good luck.

I called today, checked on-line too. That's how I found out that they were closed until the 7th of January. I find it kinda strange, don't you. Why won't they do it on November like everyone else. That would give everyone enough time to get their things organized for January.

That sounds odd. Maybe yours got lost in the mail or some sort.

Lets hope it arrives soon and that it was delayed because of the holidays. Good luck

I'm hoping that you got your letter by the time you read this post.:)

If you have a student account on-line, check to see your acceptance status, profile and student account. (I was accepted last year, and they told us they'd be sending out letters before Christmas. I was so impatient, I was checking my on-line student profile everyday and that's how I first found out. I remember seeing my acceptance online on Dec 13th but I didn't get my letter until the 22nd.)

If perhaps you didn't get accepted this time, are you currently taking any classes to get out of the way? Make sure to have a back up plan just in case.

Fingers crossed for you, Sending my best wishes :icon_hug:

If you aren't accepted, make sure you follow up on the reason why. When I applied, all of my classmates started receiving letters and I hadn't gotten anything :( After two weeks, I followed up to inquire why and I was told I did not meet all of the prereqs. I asked them to check again and they discovered there was another student attending with the same name and they had pulled the wrong transcripted when reviewing my application. Thankfully there was still "room" in the program and I was admitted.

I've thought that too, I think they lost it. Do some schools send out letters to student who are accepted only?

No, that would not be fair. Their phone lines would be flooded too. Well, they could have easily wrote the wrong number or something that caused it to return.

I really think it got lost some how, also since there was high traffic in mail due to the holidays.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Oh and by the way, you wouldn't happen to know anyone that applied with you? Maybe you could call them and ask if they have heard anything. :nurse:

Actually I have to take a music course, but all the other important courses are done, so yes, I've been checking out schools to apply for the fall term. I've applied to 7 schools. On april I find out if I get accepted to 4 other nursing programs. Oh yeah, I'm planning on taking a biology course and other courses that may help my GPA. CPR recertification I have to do in January. I'm doing all I can do to the max. I just have become impatient, because of the struggles I've gone through. But I'm hanging on and praying day by day.

Unfortunately not. I don't know anyone.

I tried on-line but it's not taking my info. I'm going to try again. Thank you so much.

I understand the anxiety!! I just got my letter on 21st just before Christmas. I am praying that it is just a mail delay for you. You should receive a letter indicating acceptance or rejection. Either way, have money saved for the costs of things that you would need; sometimes costs can range from 300 up to 500 dollars just to start. Go ahead and schedule a physical now so that your major health exams are already done.
