Need helping to keep from failing!

Hello, everyone, looking for help, and encouragement. I just took my third nursing exam for the semester (we have four exams and a final) and got a really poor grade! For test number four I need to get an 80 to get my grade to a passing average going into the final. Any study tips or ideas how to study (not more, but well) would be so appreciated!!!!!!!!

I study a lot so this might be a bit much, but I read the chapters and highlight what's important. Then I retype those highlights into a study guide. I complete any assignment or clue the teacher gives me too. I then add the power points and use that as my study packet. I study it EVERY DAY. I also do the online sample tests or chapter reviews and the questions at the end of each chapter.

This works for me. I hope you do very well on your future tests.

I recommend the Kaplan: Strategies for the Registered Nursing Licensing Exam. It is set up to help with the NCLEX but it really helped me on my last test.

Hopefully, I'm not jinxing myself since I do have 1 test and a final left, but the strategies helped me narrow down my answer choices on the test and helped me with my critical thinking.

Also, writing notes as I read text content has helped my memory.

Seeing as you only have one exam left and probably don't have alot of time to check out outside resources for help, I would really try to read ahead for lecture so you can make sure what your hearing in lecture is review and can also clarify what you didn't understand. I think highlighting ahead is a good idea too.

I was not doing well my final theory class. We need an 80 on each exam...anyway, I read before lecture and made notes (brief) on what I needed to work on or clarify during lecture. I did much better once I was more familar with the material.

I lived and breathed the material that last week before the last exam. I managed to pull it off with a 92 (best score I ever got in that class). I was on the fence right up until that exam. Good luck and let us know how you did and how you studied. You can do this :nuke:

Oh, don't forget to take a few minutes for yourself. Go ahead and have a calgon moment the night before the exam.
