I wasn't aware that a CNA could obtain a job in emergency. Do you think all facilities are susceptible to the idea of hiring nursing assistants or just a few?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Awww a girl after my heart....I got to do a clinical rotation in the ED and I also feel head over heals totally completely in freaking love with it. Going into nursing school I thought that ED was where I wanted to be, and after that rotation I was completely convinced.

Congrats to's great to love what you do!!

You sound like my sister soul mate. I too thrive off of the pace of being in the ER.

The above poster titled me perfectly...adrenaline junkie. I had been looking for a way to describe what I desire without sounding weird during interviews.

Another adrenaline junky here. I am a EMT-B/Firefighter and a full time 911 dispatcher. I am hoping to get a ED position after I get out of my ADN program and get a little experience under my belt.

Yes all ERs hire for assistants. Some are called techs but they do use us there! Hospitals have CNAs in all areas from labor and delivery to the intensive care units, I work in a burn unit myself and love it!
