  1. I believe in not saying the "q" word also. Have heard about the tying the knot in the sheet. And of course not saying the frequent flayers names. Our nursing station is in front of the elevator. If the elevator opens and no one has pushed the button and no one gets out, we say that it is death coming to take someone away.
  2. I took 75 and passed.

mosby review cards on amazon.com I used these cards by mosby. I graduated on May 12, studied the cards and tested Nclex on June 13 and passed with 75 questions.
  4. I just graduated from Southern's (SWVCTC) nursing program. I am on here every once in a while but not a lot.
  5. My sister graduated from a 2 year surgical tech program last year. Congrats on your CNA. Just check with your local colleges and they should let you know what kind of programs they have. I know some hospitals don't require surg techs going to college they do on the job training. But I am not real sure if they still do that or not.
  6. I used to work as a EMT on 24 hour shifts. Our station was in the old hospital that had been closed down and everything relocated to the new one. We had one floor that we had set up our rooms and the rest of the building was just used for storing of old equipment. One night while I was sleeping in my room I heard what sounded like dress shoes walking down the hallway. Our doors had the frosted windows where you could sort see a fuzzy outline if someone was outside of the room door. I saw what looked like a person walk by, it sounded like they went around the hall and paused by all the rooms. I mentioned this to my co workers and they said it was the old doc that founded the hospital still doing his round. I didn't work there alone anymore. lol
  7. My son weaned on his own at 23 months. I had to go back to work when he was 12 weeks old so I had to start pumping. We never had to supliment with formula. :)
  8. I am at Southern also, graduating with Tabby in 2006. :)
  9. I was approched by a local hospital, I didn't use a website.
  10. Thanks everyone for the replies. I am sure I will be back here as I get started in the ER. :)
  11. Thank you for replying. I am a quick learner, and a master of multi tasking, so I think that I will be able to pick up on stuff fast. It is just that one of my instructors at school said that I would miss out on nursing skills by not doing med surg first.
  12. I don't graduate until May, but I have already been given a job in the ER. I have been a EMT since 97 but I know that is a whole different world from nursing. My question is, Will I be missing out on important nursing knowledge by not working on a med-surg floor first? They are going to start me out as a nurse extern until I graduate so I can ease into it a little first.
  13. I just started my 2nd year in nursing school (ADN) I joke with my family that I have my "R" right now, and I have to earn the "N" this year.
  14. Our school is 80% average on all test with a 80% on the math comp test. Anything under 80% average on the tests are considered an F.

I think that every BB I have been on has that feature that tell who is reading what. I have never felt threatened by it.
