Math required for Microbiology

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Hi,

My name is Lisa and I am into my second semester of Nursing courses. I will be taking Microbiology my next semester. Can anyone tell me the math that is required for the Microbiology course.(BIOL215) Is it fractions and algebra? Is one more prominently used then the other? I just wanted to know so that I can start refreshing my mind ahead of time. I have been out of school now for 25 years.

Thanks,

Lisa

Lisa, I am in Micro right now and we have not had any math at all. The biggest challenge for me has been figuring out the microscope.

Hi Lisa,

I took Micro last semester, and there wasn't much math involved. I'd been out of school for many years myself, and it wasn't a problem.

Good Luck!

No math at all but you might want to start practicing memorizing some 10 - 12 syllable words...

The only math I've used so far is adding up my grades!

no math...just a ton of history of science, scientists, and their experiments...lots of viruses...lots and lots and lots of notes...and a bunch of DNA science: replication, transcription, synthesis, mutation, and stuff about cellular respiration cycles..

Alot harder than any math class i have taken:rotfl:
