How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Hi all,

I'm a mom of 4 and grandma of 2. Starting 4th semester of an adn program on Aug 15th. 41 years old and trying hard to keep up with the high school grads!!!. Roll on May 2007.

Hi, I'm Tiffany. I'm 19 years old and live in Texas. I just got accepted to nursing school and will begin the Associate Degree Nursing program August 28. This means I will graduate with my RN certificate in Spring 2008. I have already taken a year of all of my non-nursing courses with A's and B's in everything (whew!). I also just got a job as an indepentent contractor for a caregiving service. I hope to do well in nursing school and ultimately work my way into medical school! :)

Hi, I am 27,mother two beautiful children. Nathan is three. Kadence is 11 months. boy do they keep me on my toes. I am a second semester RN student, of a five semester program. I am excited and scared about the semester that lies ahead. Juggling two children between various child care is a new challenge. I am lucky though I do have an incredible, supportive husband.

Hi, Im Crissy and im finishing my prereq's and starting nursing in August 2007! I finished all my other courses also so I wouldnt have to worry about anything except my nursing classes! Im really excited, becoming a nurse is all I think about!!

Wow, this thread has 185 pages. That is a lot of students passing through here. I stopped reading at page 12 and read the last two pages. LOL

I switched careers after working as a union carpenter. Tired of the long cold winters in Michigan and hot summers outside. Just too many days off because of the weather.

Just finished the LPN program in June. Doing my 4 pre-req's so I can start the RN program in Jan. Have to take Pathophysiology this fall UGH,, but just found a book Patho made easy. so hope that helps.

I am completly lost here. Lots of good info, but I may have to take a year off just to read it all LOL:beer: There is an idea of grabbing a cold one and surfing.

Oh, take my NCLEX-PN on 8-24 (too many beers now I'm dancing)

Hello All!

Mom of one 5 yo boy, and starting RN program in 1 week (sheesh!) Hubby:troll: is not financially supportive and not very dad-supportive, so I thank God for my friends! Anybody waking up at night with a little panic rat running around in their heads- or is it just me? I am glad to have a forum to encourage eachother and vent if we need to

Hi Everyone!

I am Tochia a RN student in North Carolina and I start the program on Friday! I am so excited!!

Hey y'all!

I am Elizabeth. I am 29 y.o. and I am in semester 2 of my ADN. I am fortunate enough to have a supportive husband (hey, I'll be taking care of HIM after graduation and he knows it.) I also have a 15 month old daughter and a 4 year old son.

Hello, my name is Paula and I will be 45 this month. I started LPN school in July. I have three children and 4 bonus children. Our children together are 22, 6 and 3: yes all to the same husband. We started our life over again a 7 years ago and well yes it continues now.

Am I scared and/or afraid about doing this for myself....yes. But, this is something I have wanted my entire life and never spoke to anyone about until a year ago. The process was a long one but, I know it will be the greatest thing for me (ok besides having kids and having a supportive, wonderful spouse) but, this is for me because this is where I have wanted and have known where I am suppose to be. Ok, enough about me.

Congratulations to all who have followed their dream and are working as an LPN or other atributes of nursing. And, good luck to those who are like me, just starting out. May God grace you with a gift to comprehend all that is being instructed too you, and may you always, not just for tests or too impress the instructor, be able to recall that information throughout your future careers.

Paula

Hi,

I'm Lindy and 53. I am in my last year of the ADN program. (School started today.) I can't think of a time when I didn't want to be a nurse, and now I am actually going to be. It scares me and thrills me at the same time. So far my grades have been really good. My memory isn't what it once was, (or maybe it was never all that great and I just don't remember.) so I have to really dig in to remember procedures, but I think that once I have done them a few times everything will stick.

Hi to everyone and I'm cheering for all of you.

HI! I'm Nelia, 40 years old, married and have 3 daughters, from Philippines and i'm in 3rd year level of BSN. Have 408hours in clinical setting. Experienced to meet different cases in my hospital duty. I'm looking NCP (Nursing Care Plan) samples using different nursing diagnosis. Do you have known any website for this? Pls do reply on this! Thanks!!! :nuke:

God bless you all!!!
