I'm 27, and will be starting the last two years of a BSN program this fall. This is a second career for me too. I've been in retail for the past 10 years---started part time in college, and then got into management. I've enjoyed retail, owned my own store at one time, but I'm ready for a change.

I'm really excited about nursing. I had to go back and pick up 5 classes that I hadn't taken the first time around, and now that I'm done with those (A&P, nutrition, microbiology, etc.) I can't wait until this fall.

    Good luck to you.

Hi, I'm new here too. I've been lurking and reading threads for a while. I just want to introduce myself. I'm 24 yrs old and finally decided to go back to school and do what I really wanted to do. This summer I will start taking pre reqs for my ADN. And God-willing, if I pass the pre-RN exam this Saturday, I will be accepted to the nursing pgm for next fall.
I work fulltime(systems and financial industry), and still single. I will be going to school part time so I'm hoping to finish by 2005. Which I know will be quick. Anyway, welcome to all of us who are new here in this boards and for those who are starting in school.
Hope you all have a great day!

Hi, I am 31, married and "mom" of two spoiled cats! I just found this message board today and am absorbing any and all information I can.

I recently withdrew from school and my "old" major of telecommunications management, in search of something that appeals to me. I never thought I would be able to be a nurse, but I have since researched the nursing field and changed my mind. I can't wait to get the ball rolling! I admit I do not know where to begin.

I know I do not want to be stuck behind a desk anymore. I want to do something that makes difference. The older I get, the more I want to help.

I have been checking out the Collin County Community College ADN program. Luckily, some of the classes I have already taken, (algebra, etc, etc). I am in the process of moving (just down the street) so I should be focusing on that, but when I set my mind to do something...I start running! Where do I begin?!?!
