GPA in ADN program

Nursing Students General Students

I am almost finished with school and currently have a 2.5 GPA in my ADN program. I am getting worried since my goal is to go on to get my MSN and NP someday. From what I have seen most of the distance education classes require a GPA of 3.0 for nursing classes. What can I do at this point? Take the nursing classes again after I graduate to get a higher grade? Please help!

I would go for my BSN then try to get really high grades in that program. The MSN programs around me require at minimum a 3.5.

Or take some BSN pre-req's at your current college to boost the grade. Most BSN programs have gen-ed's you need along with the additional nursing classes, so maybe knocking out the gen-ed's can give your GPA a boost. Check out the curriculum for the next program you plan to attend and see what would transfer in from your school.

Most programs won't allow you to retaked nursing courses. So you may have to go the BSN route because they would want a 3.0 in nursing and overall. So you'll need some additional nursing courses.

I don't know all the details but I am going to school right now with a girl who is trying to get into a master's program but her grades aren't good enough. Now, she is having to retake everything, including all pre-reqs, in order to pull up her GPA.
