First Test Freak Out!

Nursing Students General Students

I am in an accelerated RN program, NSG 101 & we have our first exam out of 4 (no homework) on Monday! I am starting to panic ... worried about how difficult the test will be! Can anyone give advice on how to prepare for the first test? There's so much info, I'm not sure where to begin!!

Here's the breakdown of test topics:

History & Roles

Caring

Communication

Gordon's FHP

Resp.

Health Percpt.

Math

Specializes in OB, NP, Nurse Educator.

What are the objectives for the course material? The test questions should come from that.

That should be your easiest test those topics were some of the easiest i have came across. Just know the principles of communicating and caring, Roles of the nurse(advocate, caregiver, teacher, change agent etc) Definitions of health and how people look at and define their health individually, Important nurse theorists and their theories.

Your first test will not be that hard( especially compared to future exams) but alot of people don't do as good because of anxiety, its not that they don't know the material its just test stress/anxiety gets in the way. SO get a grip, you'll do fine

good luck

also, if you happen to record the lectures, maybe take a final listen to what the instructor has talked about regarding each subject and on the test day use a highlighter to mark key info (if you're allowed)

best of luck.

Yeah, we've had 3 tests so far this semester, and I've had an 88, 93 and a 72.5 on all three. The lowest one has me freaking out a little, but it is the one that the instructor says EVERYBODY does bad on, so don't base all the tests off just that one. If you do good early, than the points affect your average less, just because of the less number of points left available. Although that doesn't mean blow off the later tests!!!
