Emergency surgery over the weekend

So, we had our first test today and my body decided it was going to try and come up with the most creative excuse to miss a test. Saturday morning I was in the ER with abdominal pain and by 4pm, I was in the OR for an emergency appendectomy! Goodness....there went the studying and my daughter's birthday party.

Thank God for laparoscopy because I was out of the hospital by noon on Sunday and managed to make it to class this morning for our first test. I'm sore and sleepy, but doing well.

WOW! I think I would have missed the test and asked for a re-take. I hope you have a speedy recovery. :wink2:

I found out that I got an 81 on that test! I'm sure if I wasn't on Vicodin I may have been able to concentrate better....but it's passing and I know last years class had a high percentage fail the first test. I came home after the test and rested, but will be back tomorrow...just taking it easy while I'm there. The worst thing for me would be getting behind with anything.

My third semester of school, the week before finals I ended up in the ER and had to have my gall bladder out emergently. I too was back to school on tues taking finals. It was hard, but I did not want the make up exam! I heard they were much harder.

You are going to make it as a great nurse, just be very careful and remember that your body is still healing, so taek it easy!
