congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!

i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!

:groupwelcome:

Has anybody taken Beecham's careplan class before and if so how was it? Was it worth it?

Specializes in Operating Room.

I didn't....and did fine. Others did, and I've heard mixed emotions.

It's a matter of your money and time, IMHO.

Specializes in Med/Surg/Tele.

Let's all say a little prayer that Spill gets her first or second pick for third semester clinicals. I turned in the paperwork yesterday. I won't find out til mid July according to Kanora.

The clinical options sucked. There was a Saturday/Sunday clinical and a 3-11pm clinical the day before our set test days---*********** The rest are the reg 6-3 at Baylor.

I'm sure we all picked Baylor.

Any whoo----trying to get motivated to crack a book this summer in preperation for 3rd semester. From what I've heard its the most challenging of them all.

Any big plans for the summer anyone?

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Hmm -- Yang and I wound up with the one listed as 3-11 before test days. If you have the same instructor, it works out to be 2-10 and she tries to schedule it so that you have the day before a test off. Honestly, I liked it best, but YMMV.

My biggest plans for the summer? Celebrating my birthday, which I'm headed to do NOW! Woo!

Specializes in Operating Room.

Happy birthday Jaxia!

Spill....best of luck in 3rd semester. It is tough, but 77.5 = on to 4th semester. You can do it! :D

Just read, read it again, read it over, and read it another time, and other....get the drift?

I really think that reading the 3rd semester material over and over helps to finally let it sink in.

happy birthday jaxia!!!!!!

While trying to keep abreast of stuff this summer, I found a great website that is really helping me study. Flashcarddb is a website that allows you to create flashcards online, and you can even share with other people (or choose to make your cards private, too). One cool thing about the site is that it uses the Leitner System to help you study.

I haven't been using the online flashcards for long, so I'm not sure how much spaced repetition will actually help me, but it seems like it should.

If you are interested, here is a link to the cards I have already created. I'm trying to remember to tag all the cards I create with 'nursing' to make them easier for other people to find. Let me know what you think!

** edit ** Well, since it won't let me link directly to stuff, here are links:

http://flashcarddb.com -- Main site

http://flashcarddb.com/Jaxia -- My flashcards

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaced_repetition -- Spaced repetition

Does anyone know how the end of the 4th semester goes? My family is trying to make travel/holiday plans, but I don't know anything about my schedule. Is the exit-HESI a few days after the final? What about the pinning ceremony?

Are there any other meetings or things to attend to other than the final, hesi and pinning ceremony?

Is the pinning ceremony a large event? How many people can we invite? Where is it held? Any info would be appreciated!!
