Specializes in ER.

Lord has it every been a crazy week!! It has been good to see everyone though. It does seem like we lucked out a little bit this semester though - no pharm, no simbaby. But geez -- major care plan in the first 2 patients??? How are we gonna get any feedback on our careplans before we submit a major?? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. Hopefully, it'll all gel and get more comfortable quickly!

What happened to SIMbaby??????

Specializes in ER.

The guy who was running it quit and they don't have anybody to do it. Therefore, no simbaby - at least for this semester! How many pedi days did you guys have (actual hospital)? We're only gonna have 2-3 it looks like.

I had 2, plus SIM baby and SIM adolescent.

Did you guys have your major careplan in the 1st 4 weeks? That's sort of what's freaking me out. I wanted to be able to get feedback and maybe take the careplanning class before I had to do it.

Yes....I had 1x OB, then 1 x NBN, and then 2 x Post partum. My Major was on a Post partum pt.

My instructor let us pick medsurg patients, too. Taking a careplan class is a good idea. ;)

we had to pick a pt. for our Major out of our first four clinicals, but you do have some time to complete it. I can't remember, when we had to turn it in, but it is not like a regular careplan, which you have to turn in within a week, so you should be able to take a careplan class.

I am doing my MCP on my 1st pt I had the first day at the hospital. This semester is craziness- it's flying by already

and we are on to week 3 already! yeah!!!!!!!!!!

Specializes in Emergency Department.

OK...so how many of you were not so excited about nursing school after the first few weeks? The beginner material is so boring. I guess I am just eager for the biology portion of nursing...not the Nursing Process and Communication Skills. I was so much more into A&P, Micro and even Stats than this. It doesn't help that ECC is so unorganized. I am so confused as to what I should study for the first lecture test. OK - just had to vent a bit, I am sure I will enjoy it more as time passes. I am at least, super excited to start clinical this Thursday!

yes beginning is some what boring, have fun at clinicals!!!!

I think many of us felt the same way. The 1st test material was very hard to read & study. :uhoh3:

I think it really helps to skim through and do the study guide at the same time....at least you get some type of other stimulus. lol (Not just staring at a book non-stop.)
