It is really quiet in here!
Okay - time to wake everyone's brains up. Think back to the wound care seminar. There was a bandage there that adhered to either side of a wound, and you put the bandage in the middle, and tied a lace thing across it. What was this called? We have a dog in the hospital who needs something like this and I can't for the life of me remember what the name is. Anyone with great notes or a wonderful memory that can help out?

Is it Montgomery Straps?
Yes!!! That's it. My roommate (a veterinarian) has a golden in the hospital that she took a mast cell tumor off and the incision keeps opening up because the dog is have a major reaction due to the mast cells (proteases, heparin, and histamine being released causing massive tissue damage). The dog is a walking lysosome! Anyways I thought this might help her approximate the edges of the primary wound, and provide gentle bandaging without placing additional sutures. Any trauma sets this dog's immune system off and it turns into ground hamburger (and the primary wound is on the abdomen of all things).
Thanks so much - now just to find one at a medical supply without buying tons of them.

Welcome back, Spill! lol ....Great looking boys indeed. :) Congrats again!
Glad "K" is helping you. ....Be careful with the needles! :chuckle
Thanks for the welcome back!
Congrats Mi'shelle and Katie on 3rd & 4th semester!
I'm loving 2nd semester already- we are lucky they took away SIM and the PHARM test! Yeah!!!!!
It doesn't really sound like they took away the SIM on purpose
This week was crazy busy! And I cannot believe that we have to pick a patient for our major care plan out of the first two weeks of clinicals. Yikes! I'm a bit worried about that. Talk about needing to be on top of things ...
It was good to see you, too, Spill! And I heard a certain someone's name mentioned out of the 4th semester students during the presentation today, but there didn't seem to be a good time to introduce myself.
