Algebra help desperately needed!

Nursing Students General Students

Published

I am in the midst of attempting to complete the first 7 chapters of the Algebra book, and have gotten mired in polynomials..

for some reason the concept just escapes me. :(

Anybody out there with a reasonable comprehension of these critters would be doing great works to help this poor confused student.

It is critical that I understand and pass this, as I can't go into my regular nursing classes until I get this done. Seeing as I am set to go that route in January, speed is of the essence.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a site called math for morons like us

http://library.thinkquest.org/20991/home.html

I cut and pasted this address, if this doesn't work just type in the title in your address bar and it should search it out for you.

This helped me allot with the problems I had with math. Hope it helps!!

I don't know if this will help or not, but when I was in Algebra, I went to the library here in town. Not only did they have books to help me (which they did), they also had videos. Step by step videos which were a different type of teaching than what my instructor was teaching...and lo and behold, I actually understood it! I understood it so well, that I got a C in Algebra and a B in intermediate algebra...try it, it may work for you too!

Good Luck and God Bless! (Of course, a lot of prayers didn't hurt either!;) )

Hi there,

Ewww do I understand how you feel!! Math has ALWAYS been my worst subject. I considered not even attempting to go into nursing because of it but the school I attend has tremendous support and downloadable programs that not only provide practice equations but step-by-step instructions on how to solve them. A few months ago I looked at something like this: 2a+4=8-3a-4a and it might as well have been a foreign language. Now after working with the program I can do more complex work...and I haven't taken an algebra course yet =) I hope this helps, best of luck!
