Hi,

I am trying to find an Anatomy and Physiology 2 course preferably in California and during the summer. I live in SF and cannot find this course anywhere nearby.

Also, have any of you take A & P 2 online? How does that work with the lab?

Please let me know! Thanks

Specializes in AA&I, research, peds, radiation oncology.

Hi cullen regina-There's an advertisement for an online A&P class right above your post!! www.Corexcel.com Or you can try the community colleges around you area. HTH.

Thanks but that is A & P 1. Also, I don't see how an online course would be possible because of the lab portion....

Sorry about the wrong info given...not sure how online labs would be done!! Have you tried local community colleges in your area??;)

Try posting in the region section under california....I find it takes a little longer for me to get responses in the region section but they are more specific....

Be wary of online labs...some nursing programs won't accept them :o

Try National University. I think they are affiliated with JFK University in Walnut Creek/Concord.

Mayville State University (located in North Dakota) has an online A & P I and II course with lab. You buy the lab kit through the bookstore, and do the labs at home. The university is regionally accredited, which is sufficient for most transfer acceptance (but make sure and check with your school). I was going to take A & P II this way, but fortunately got a dropped seat for the minimester at my local community college.

Specializes in ICU, Telemetry.

I used Edukan, we used a virtual lab. I worked my backside off, learned a lot. My knowledge level doesn't seem to suffer compared to the folks who went to a brick and mortar school. And the transcript says "Dodge City Community College" since Edukan is the community college consortium of Kansas.

Couldn't get them to have "Matt Dillon" sign my transcript, tho....*grin*

Is A&P2 the second part of a 2 part class series? If so you need to also be wary of doing them separate at different schools. I've had a few A&P classes over the years and they divide up the 1st and 2nd semester info differently, depending on the school. Plus on-line is tough, a science lab doubly so, in the summer time.

That said, Rio Salado in Phoenix offered a good A&P program on line in the past. Regional accreditation is the key.

In sacramento, one of the C.C.'s (in Los Rios district) will offer A&P, but they are impacted. If all else fails, sit in the class until all the wait list is over filled. Usually enough drop by the second week that someone persistent enough gets in. I've done it several times over the years. Lesser students leave the first day, seeing aa filled class. Wait until ends.

But also, I'm pretty old and if I've learned anything, it's that time is your friend. Don't get in a hurry or discouraged. just persevere. I wait listed for 3 years to get my NS, and then broke my leg (Harley) 1 month in. Picked up and started again. Enjoy the journey!
