What would you do if you were to quit nursing?

Do you know anyone who quit nursing because they don't like nursing? If so, what career did they switch to? Also, what career would you choose if you were to quit nursing?

I only know two nurses who quit nursing, and both of them decided to be truck drivers!

As for myself, I'd love to go back to school to become a Doctor of Plant Medicine, but they only offer that program in Florida. My husband and I are both in love with that idea right now, so who knows? Maybe when the kids have moved out. The youngest is 15 -- so not too much longer!

I would find a product that eveyone wants and sell it on Ebay!

Great minds think alike! That is one thing I started doing since I am not released to work by my cardiologist. I do not plan on going back to work as a nurse ever, and I have started painting birdhouses and making candles, and other "artsy" types of things. I have been making fleece throws and they have sold really well.I never took the time to explore my "more creative self''.

And, no punching the clock, no more uniforms. That was my first sale on ebay - my stethescope and all my scrubs. I did keep the dress I wore to my pinning ceremony, but that was it. Bow, my BP is better, not ''good, but "better'', and not as many PVC's.

Very interesting topic. I am planning my exit from nursing right now to start my own daycare. I've been doing this for 17 years and if I knew then what I know now, I would have never gone to a field that is dominated by women. I am a woman but I envy the women who works in the male dominating field because they don't deal with as much drama. The last year has left a bad taste in my mouth. Some of these women are grandmothers and they act like the floor is a reality show. I just hate it, so I prayed, and prayed, and prayed. I decided to step out on faith and open my own business. I have to deal with women and parents, but I will be the boss. I hope 2010 will be my last year in nursing.
