what might have been injected into a ganglion?

  1. just remembering and wondering:
many years back, as a teenager - a doctor injected solution from a vial into
a ganglion that was located on my wrist, the ganglion then
    disappeared
what might the solution have been?
(some sources mention that an anti-inflammatory might be
    injected)
is there anything that would cause the ganglion to breakdown?

does it make the ganglion break down?

Yes. A ganglion cyst is basically an inflammation. Steroids reduce inflammation.

Cortisone and lidocaine because cortizone injection alone is torture.

what the above poster said as far as whats injected. In some cases it does solve the problem, but this method does not get rid of the stock of the ganglion cyst so it can easily grow back, although it may take a few years.
