Venipicture and bruising (different sites)

hi ,

can i ask, i had a venipuncture done on my left cub.fossa (had a vaccutainer in, blood taking) last friday, it felt sore the next day (normal). But a bruise started appearing in the mid of my forearm on monday. Is this normal?

We can't give medical advice. Does bruising happen yea it does. Is it harmful, no. Will it hurt for a few days? yea it will.

I would guess that the phlebotomist went thru your vein, pulled back a little and was able to collect the blood...alll the while the blood leaked into your arm via the underside of the vein. It flowed downwards and pooled in your arm.

I was wondering if bruising could occur on another site of the arm rather than the V.P site ?
