Transferring Universities

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has transferred from an Australian Uni (or from anywhere) to a uni in London/UK and how they managed to succeed with that. I have been told that I cannot, because NHS pays for all nursing positions at uni over there, and that I need to be a resident for 3 years before I could go to uni. Don't they do Full Fee paying or anything (then again which nurse can afford full fees in pounds). I only have 1 year of uni left to go but moving with my fiance` over there.

Any help, advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Also I'm pretty sure I can get a british passport as my dad's a pom, so not sure if that helps with the situation.

THANKS

yes most nursing students in the UK are UK/EU so fees are funded by the NHS and most uni only accept students under that arrangment.

However you could phone the uni in the area you bf/fiancee lives in and speak to the course admissions persons they may be able to help. You course would have to be evaulated to see if they meet the requiremnts of a pre-registation nursing program as required by the NMC or can be meet if you finish the course there.

I would suggest you be prepared to ring a few univeritys
