This is why I am a nurse

Published

Almost two years ago when I had just began ICU roartion for my LPN clinicas. My pt. was a liitle boy eight years old in for complications from having a rare heart condition. Since I was a student I spent the entire shift for 3 days with that boy, and I spoiled him rotten. I have never run into the child again even though we live in a small town, only get reports once in a while from his mother if we pass in public. Anyway, while out to dinner with my husband, I hear a little voice say " Daddy there's my nurse":D We hugged and I asked how he was and etc. I was so thrilled that he remembered me and still thinks of me as "his nurse" awwwwwww....

OH, that's wonderful!!!

May the Lord richly bless you, and I believe He all ready has...with a heart of gold.....

What a wonderful feeling that must have been.....

noelle--nice story. that's one of the advantages of living in a small town, I guess.

Great heart-warming story Noelle. You obviously made quite an impression on the young man.
