hi am taking the teas test soon and have to score a 80% on the reading portion to pass at my college. 60% on the rest (math, english, science). has anyone takin the test, can you tell me what's on the reading portion of it. what should i focus on when studying for it, is 80% hard to achieve? thanks

Hi there

I think there are about 45-50 questions in the Reading part,

you'll be given paragraphs, and ask to choose the right mainpoints of the paragraph or the author's purposes, or find the definitions. They might give you a map, ask you which direction you should go to get there, South, west, east or North. If English is your first language, then I'm sure you will be ok. Remember, the TEAS is just like a 11th grade test. If you can get yourself a ATI study manual, that would help you alot to prepare for the TEAS.

Good luck!

The teas is not 11th grade level, it is freshman college level. You will have no problem if you have taken college english, math, and science.

I found that the key to the teas was to go thru each section answering the questions that you know or can figure out easily, and then going back to what you did not know. That way, you will get thru more questions, and not run out of time in any one area.

best of luck to you.:specs:
