Student Nurse Heart Concern

Nurses General Nursing

Hello I am a second semester Male Nursing student and I was just curious what other people would think about a condition I have. I am not 100% sure what it is but I believe it is a pericardial friction rub, but give me your opinions. I have went to see a cardiologist but they said they did not see or hear anything.

I have noticed for over the past year that when I get out of bed, do something that makes me excited, like seeing a deer when hunting, or my heart rate racing, I will get a squeaking noise like a higher pitched squeek. It is heard outside my body by myself and others. It will do it about 5-8 times and stops when my heart rate slows down. It worries me, but then again I figure it is nothing significant. I was just curious because I really have never heard of anything like this before and I wanted some fellow students, and nurses opinions.

Thanks. Derrek

Dear, Maybe you should have a second opinion. What tests did your cardio gave you? You should've at least undergone an ecg or 2d echo. This way, they may know where the problem may lie. :)

You most definitely need a second opinion. Make sure you tell the cardiologist that it occurs when you are excited. Maybe you need to do a stress test to see if you can make the same thing happen. But definitely get it checked again.
