I am a registered nurse with out US work experience, I am finding it very difficult to get a job with out any experience in USA.For getting a job i thought of asking hospitals if i can work with out pay for some time, my question is, Is there any legal difficulties from the hospital side to give me a voluntary job?

I don't think many hospitals will let your work as an RN in a volunteer type setting. Maybe they will let you volunteer at a health fair? Or maybe you could volunteer at a low cost or free clinic giving vaccinations?

I was considering signing up as a volunteer at the hospital that I am trying to get a job at...but it wouldn't be doing RN duties, just typical volunteer type things.

Go check out your community clinics. The clinic in this area hires RNs and LPNs to volunteer doing vaccines, blood sugars, basic check ups, etc. They hire strictly volunteers.

Quite often employers will not count any volunteer work as experience.

I agree with the poster who said to volunteer at free clinic. They desperately need trained professionals and it will be much more hands on than a hospital would allow. Also, you can try the red cross. I'm not sure what exactly you would get to do but I know they have health booths at things like carnivals and parades and concerts etc and they need licensed people to work there too...

my local health dept uses RN's for vaccinations and such but they are paid to do so, Even though the service is free to those patients attending.
