Is there a nursing field that treats both pediatrics and adult patients? More in a general sense rather than a super specialized field of nursing? Is it possible to be a float nurse in general adult care and general pediatric care? Thanks.

There are some adult hospitals that have a pediatric unit or wing, so it is possible that you could take care of both pediatrics and adult/geriatrics.

Emergency dept

The main hospital in my town is part peds, part adult because the census for pediatrics is so low that there often times aren't any. Also, an emergency department! I worked in a pediatric ER, but sometimes got adults because of EMTALA, you can't turn patient's away. But a regular ER would see more adults, and occasional peds, so just depended which you liked more. :) Oh, also, surgery centers are usually adult and pediatrics. Good luck finding what you're looking for!
