welp I did it....

I had my eureka moment and realized that I need to make some hefty changes in my life , not the least of which is finding a new job ASAP

rumour mill running rampant here , dont like the feeling of going in to work and hearing all about whats being said about me behind my back...

not just me, there are a few other select "troublemakers" if you will, but I dont deal well with this kind of situation ,so I'm trying to get outta there, vamoose, exit, leave, go , gone etc you get the point

so I faxed my resume out today to a hospital that I've had my eye on for some time, with three current positions that I could see myself doing well in, and as I've mentioned patience isnt my strongest virtue, and since stargazer and others have helped me with the old resume, I'm sure its a good one, so how long do I wait to hear from them before I follow up?

I've never had to wait very long , lucky for me I suppose, but its already been 8 hours or more since I faxed and nothing (I TOLD YOU I'm not patient! hehe )

I'm being overdramatic, I'm not thinking they would call right away or anything (they should though, I'm great damnit!)

:)

but how long would you normally wait?

a day, few days, a week, a month, forever?

:p

edited because I typed ME instead of MY and I'm not british so I couldnt get away with doing that........

I agree with all the above.

Good luck, Wendy! :D

I too would give it 2-3 days, Excellent advice to go to nurse manager of unit. If you do not know who it is do not hesitate to ask and then call, visit to introduce yourself. Let them know that you have just submitted an application, wouldn't hurt to have a resume handy, just in case. You may get hired right then.

this is totally worse than waiting for the guy you like to call you..

sooooooooooo grade 7 of me I know :)

ah well ,I'll see what if anything happens in the next few days and then go from there, thanks for indulging my lack of patience, is very sweet

ironically enough, work was tolerable last night...whats up with that?

perhaps that I'm seeing some kind of a light at the end of the tunnel (ie a way out)

actually thought "wow I might really miss this place if i go"

but then I snapped back to reality and well thats that :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for ya Wendy!

Did you include any of those pics I resized and sent ya? Those would really seal the deal for you! Especially all those booty shots!

:D Heather

good luck Wendy!...excellent advice above...call the hosp and get the names of the NM's of the units that are hiring....even some that aren't if you are interested....send f/u letters to them with a brief outline of your quals.......l think that may seal the deal for you....let us know.......LR

I would give it 2-3 days too. I wish you luck Wendy!!!!

What do you mean that you are NOT patient Wendy???? WE WOULD NEVER GUESS THAT!!!

Seriously, I would go to the nurse manager of the unit you are looking at also; I've both seen and heard of HR ignoring or otherwise missing some excellent job applicants for not only my unit but also other hospitals and units. And I'd give it the 3 daytime period.

Good luck, Wendy! You KNOW you are worth better treatment than what you are currently getting!

I recieved some good advice on helping with the wait and dealing with the current job situation while waiting.........keep your eye on the light.....the light at the end of the tunnel. All will be well. You have made a decision now continue on. I had short timers syndrome so bad I could hardly wait to get out but her words kept ringing though my ears. helped alot. Good luck Remember the Robin Williams movie where he could see past what was in front of him and look beyond it. God I loved that scene

tapping foot nervously, looking at the phone every hour , hearing the phone ring even when it isnt ringing, am I waiting for my true love to call?

NEWP NEWP NEWP

I'm waiting to hear about a J O B

crazy innit??

whaddya mean I'm not patient? :)

actually I'm pretty calm about the whole thing, specially since I've had a very "interesting" 2 nights at work...

Good luck Wendy. They're crazy for not calling you already!! I got my job by calling the NM when I heard there was a position. Got an interview within days and hired right away. This was AFTER being ignored by HR forever. Good luck!
