New Graduate Questions

Nurses General Nursing

I will be a registered nurse in May 2018, and I am super nervous.

I have two questions that I would like any experienced nurses to answer:

What best helped you study for the NCLEX?

What helped you learn to be a better nurse clinically? (i.e. at home studying, asking questions, attending seminars...)

Thank you for your time if you choose to answer these questions! I would like as many answers as possible.

Congrats on almost being done. I found the Hurst review helpful for NCLEX prep

Specializes in Ambulatory Care-Family Medicine.

I used Saunders and UWorld for NCLEX.

I start my first job as a RN this month but I can tell you from being a LVN for several years, the best learning clinically came from just listening. Listen to your physicians, charge nurses, coworkers, and patients. If you don't understand something, ask someone, don't just wing it and hope for the best.

I second Saunders. It was the only review book I used. Honestly, I felt like I just spent how many semesters going to lectures and working in groups, I just needed to sit down with the material by myself and really absorb it.

Good luck with the exam!
